Barcelona week three…
Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007Hi, still working very hard here in BCN. Week three is apparently the killer… we have to complete a learner profile on one particular student, get samples of their larguage and analyse it and then conduct a one-to-one lesson! I did mine this morning and actually it went ok, not so scary but we did play a lot of pictionary! On top of that we have to devise a project about creating new and exciting materials to use in the class room – as if a billion other TEFL teachers haven´t already stollen the original ideas before us!! And we still have regualr lessons to plan nearly every day!
But it´s still great fun being here, the city is great and I am starting to know my way around – I know, even me! It was about 20º here on Saturday so me and some of the girls took the afteroon off and headed up to Parc Guell (not sure on the spelling), its where loads of Gaudi stuff is? although that could be anywhere here in Barcalona, he wasn´t shy about leaving his mark. But it was a gorgeous afternoon, I´d recommend you all visit there if you go to BCN its really interesting and has great views of the city.
That evening we all went out to a Mexican restaurant – Mexican food and Italian, thats all I´ve eaten here!! Not least at the great Italian place Paul and I went to last night where we sat on the table next to a paper mache model of Ricky Tomlinson! it was a fabulous place, it had a black tie maitre´d, and a loud speaker calling out the orders!
Anyhoo, must go and phonetically transcribe my student profile samples now, and if anyone knows how to do that Í´d be grateful for a quick e-mail?
See… I really did go to the football!
