October 16, 2003Just another day at the bank
I went to the bank today with my passport, a letter from my employer, my full contract for my employment, and three paycheques. I talked to Elaine to see if I can now get my bank account, and she is going to see what she can do. Technically, she needs me to bring in a letter that has how much I make, proof of address, length of contract, etc, but maybe if she gives them the photocopy of my passport, contract and letter they will let me have an account. It is becoming very frustrating. I told her that I would have to start mailing my paycheques home so that they can be deposited in my Canadian account and she looked worried. To be fair, Elaine is doing everything she can and is very nice, but honestly, you would think that I am trying to scam them for millions of dollars...pounds... Things are picking up at the hostel. I mopped vomit off one of the bathroom floors today. One of the guys that works with us is a little bit odd. He is going to join the army apparently, but keeps giving everyone a different story. He told me and the manager that he was going to joing the SAS and work there two days a week making £32 a day, but today he told one of the other cleaners that he is joining the territorial army and he needs to pay £28 to join and he will be working one day a month. He also mentioned that he wont be joining until he gets his british passport, so not for 3 months or so. He moves absolutely silently and appears out of no where at random moments. We are all assuming that it is part of his commando training. Posted by Liz on October 16, 2003 08:30 AM

Always LOVING you ,silly Grandparents Posted by: grandma on October 16, 2003 10:27 AMWow Liz. You get to work with a member of Her Majesty's Secret Service. How sexy. lol Just kiddin, he sounds somewhat creepy. Funny though, the whole commando training thing. I bought a phone card the other day so I can call you. But whenever I feel like calling I realise that it is like 2am your time (of course, that is when you are at your brightest)! But tonight I think I will call when I get my lab done. Then it will be like 8 or 9 am! Some creepy guy is stalking me by e-mail. He goes to UNBC. Yeah....
