Dust Bunnies

I did extreme vacuuming on my cleaning shift today. I pulled out the beds from the walls and even lifted the mattresses up. Oh the wonderful things that appeared in those dark, hard to reach places of the hostel. I vaccuumed up what I am almost certain was encrusted vomit, I had to chip a candy off the carpet with the metal edge of the vacuum, and I found a vast selection of old movie tickets, german literature, and half eaten chocolate bars. On the bright side though, I did find about four pounds in total. Thats almost like getting a tip.

Not that much is going on at the hostel lately. Things have been pretty quiet. We got a new staff member - Rebecca and she is quite nice, but its hard for the managers to find enough work for all of us. At one point last week, there were seven staff members in the building, but only one guest that night. I think the guy was a little creeped out, but I felt like we should have rolled out the red carpet and opened some champagne for him.
Ive been trying to schedule my flight back home, and it looks like I will be returning to Canada on May 2 or 6, and I will be at home for the summer. I am excited! My visa here expires on April 2, so I hope I will spend most of April in Greece and Turkey. Fingers crossed that we get there.
Ok, thats all for now, talk to you soon!

Wow Liz, it sounds like you really have found a fulfilling career. I am excited that you are coming home. Have you applied to travelcuts? We should get a basement suite if you live in Vancouver or something. Make our own little Luther-House. Otherwise I am sure you will have lots of fun in Merville!
