The rain in spain

Well, I am at Stanstead airport now in between flights. I have a 10 hour wait, but the airport is alright... I had a great time in spain and really enjoyed the heat and sun, not to mention the calamari. I met up with Jackie in Malaga and we spent a day on the beach and wound up with rather painful sunburns. The old town in Malaga was quite neat except for low hanging electrical wires that made my arms tingle and my fillings hurt when we walked past them.
We spent two nights in Malaga, I spent the first in the airport because of my late flight, but the second was much more comfortable at the hotel. the spanish food was fantastic and I may have eaten my body weight in squid and churros. The markets in malaga were excellent as well and I bought a carrier bag of fruit for €5... very nice!

We took a bus to Jerez de la Frontera the next day and missed the bathroom stop unfortunetly...this seems to be a theme with my travels...
Jerez was busy with the Flamenco festival and lst night we saw some amazing dancing and music at a little flamenco club at the end of what seemed to be an abandoned street.
Otherwise, we spent a lot of time lounging at the outdoor cafes with 'dos cervesas' and tapas. The sun bathing made it difficult to get much done around midday and eventually even writing postcards became too difficult, but they are all written and will get sent, just with a british postmark.
The other cultural experience was watching the men practice carrying the easter floats around the streets in the evenings. it was neat to see and a lot of people turned out to support their float.
Ok, thats all for now, more later,
liz

Since it is St. Patricks day there, Have a good one, do they care in Scotland? Anyway, I am not going to drink green beer or anything, but probably go to Keorners (where we went in Sept) with Makenzie etc. Nothing too wild, I have a presentation the next day. Planning on going camping in May long weekend, for my birthday, still a while away, but i need something to get through the end of semester. anyway, gotta type up my resume, going to apply for the museum shop for the summer as well as guiding. Miss you and hope you are having a wee bit of craic!
