Dana is home!

My good pal Dana is home from Ireland! I haven't seen her in four months, so I am so glad to see her again. I've seen her pictures now and heard a few stories, and it is getting me pumped for my trip. Today I am going to the travel stores in town to grab some last minute goodies for the trip. Coryna is coming with me to buy a money belt. Coryna and I will be meeting up in London after I come back from my Scandinavian adventure and after she comes back from five days in Poland. So far things are looking good and I think she is getting excited too. It was a last minute decision to travel together, it was last minute that she decided to travel at all, but things are working out.
Well, I must go and brush my teeth at least.

I am in Visby right now at the library but it wont let me update my page becuase of some setting on the computer. Anyways, I will write a little bit in here. It took me all day yesterday to get to gotland. I woke up at 4 am to get to the airport on time, I managed to find a really nice B and B to stay at, and I flew out to copenhagen at 7 am. The ferry terminal was a rather surreal experience. I waited outside for it to open and eventually heard the automatic doors get unlocked so i went inside, but no one was there. Then the PA started up and the first few notes of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" got my attention. By the time Major Tom was off floating in space I noticed that there were clerks in each of the ticket booths, but none of them had opened their curtains yet. I could see their fingers typing, but that was all I could see. When David Bowie's song was over a bunch of Elvis songs played and by about the third one I managed to buy a ticket. I got to gotland at 1 am and the hostel I was going to stay at is closed for this week only....anyways, I pitched my tent outside the hostel and slept there. At least my first night here was free! I even had a bathroom, although it was 2 blocks away. Well, people keep speaking Swedish to me, and I keep giving them blank looks and speaking english to them. I am going to go find another hostel now, because i think i am getting a cold and I'm a little bit stiff from sleeping in the tent - I still dont have a sleeping mat.
