I just got on Isabella, the ferry to Stockholm and I am settling in for the 12 hour cruise. I didnt have a cabin booked, so I jammed my backpack into a locker that isnt really big enough, and put my other bag in another locker. As it turned out, I got a bed in a cabin, so if the locker door explodes open, at least I have somewhere to put my bag.

there was a little old lady in the other bed in my cabin and she started chatting with me and giving me finnish candy right away. Our conversation went something like this:
Lady: 'something in finnish'
Me: sorry, I cant speak finnish, Im from Canada
L: oh! Canada! I went to montreal once.
M: I live quite far from montreal
L: and chicago and new york, and Washington DC and have some candy (opens large bag of candy and offers it to me, i take one) NO! take more take more! (I take some more) oh take more, take some more
M: no thanks, I think I have enough.
L: oh...ok. (chuckles) I live in Stockholm now, but I was born in Finland. I have many cousins in America
M: Nice, Did you like visiting north america?
L: Have some more candy.
M: no thanks, well, it was nice to meet you. I will see you later on tonight. I think I will go explore the boat.
L: Finnish boys are GOOD boys. (winks at me. This woman is about 70, and a total stranger, and I think she is trying to fix me up...)
M:hei hei! (start backing out the door)
L: Hei hei. Kiitos!

So here I am now, ready for the night cruise experience. I think I will get something to eat.
