Hunter Valley

Leaving scone in the morning on our last day of the road trip would have been sad but for the (what felt like) gale force winds whipping at us, so instead of a slow start to the day, we ended up oversleeping and running about to pack the car up without anything getting blown away!

The drive to the Hunter Valley was fairly short as we had stayed pretty close the night before - this gave Sue and Vonnie a full day of wine and cheese tasting (with me as designated driver and non cheese fan) before heading back to the bright lights of the big city in the evening.

Am having a few problems with my picture cd so will have to add pictures when am more in a technical frame of mind...

Anyhow - the vineyards were stunning, the weather was picture postcard perfect - and the day was amazing...

Both of the girls bought some plonk for the trip home - very nice too so i'm told... I tried most of the wines in the other valleys i've been to, so don't think i was a martyre at all :oP

We spend a very nice few hours driving about and sipping away until eventually, it was time to head back to the big smoke of Sydney...

After a hell of a time trying to work out which way the right road was to get back to the cross (navigation is really not my thing at all...) we finally made it back to the hotel...

It was time for me to find a job, and time for the girls to get ready for their trip to New Zealand before heading home...

Who am I kidding? It was time for a few beers to celebrate my last days of freedom before finding another job... My 3 months of travelling since leaving Sydney months ago are over... time to go get a job... bah humbug!
