The road to a beach and bikini xmas... With still nothing much to see, we managed to catch up on a solid 10 months of missing gossip and stopped to take the odd photo of termite house fields crazy huh? They carried on like that for hours of driving! We stopped to play good samaritans to a couple who had blown 2 tyres at the same time - doh! On the way back with their fixed tyre we drove past controlled fires being set - despite seeing the guys controlling them it was still a bit creepy to see an outback fire right next to us. We had a girlie victory dance and a cheer at this sign on the road announcing we were finally leaving the outback and vowed never to return without air conditioning :oP With only a short time to go before christmas day - this creek was aptly festive and before long we were offically entering queensland. Not long after that at the first service station we came to, we saw this slightly less official welcoming sign We finally made it into Hervey Bay on Christmas Eve. We swam in the ocean, sunbaked on the beach, ate turkey sarnies for xmas lunch, and offically had a hot and chilled out xmas. Halfway through the road trip, we were having a blast and loving every minute of it! xx happy xmas xx Posted by Mary on December 25, 2004 07:48 AM
