Ku-Ring-Gai

Picnics are fab - especially when in National Parks with odd animals wandering past.

Check out this for a dining companion. He was HUGE!
The national parks surrounding Sydney are stunning, and lovely places to go to for a picnic or just to have a bit of a wander. This is Lion Island so named after the Sphinx in Egypt - if you sort of squint and peer at it you can see it :oP
The head on the other side of the mainland opposite does have a name, but I've forgotten it - I will return and amend this entry when it comes back to me... Anyway - half way down on the right is a beach. That's Palm Beach, the Home and Away beach that I went to a few months ago. After leaving Ku-Ring-Gai we headed there and walked up an appetite for fish and chips. mmm *drool* they even have vinegar (not very often found over here for some reason!)

Heading into the city that night we found some of the sights we had seen before looking funky in the dark (but they didn't photograph that well - think of them as arty rather than shaky). Check these out:
Lighthouse, opera house and bridge. Will try again another time to get better piccies :oP
