New Years Eve

If you're in Sydney for the New Year, it'd be rude not to spend the night watching the fireworks over the harbour bridge.

Well, D and me aren't the rude types, so with an invitation to spend the evening at the best seats in the house (on a coastguard boat patrolling the harbour ie: on the front row for the fireworks) we were only too happy to accept the invite.

At 6pm we were on the boat armed with sunnies and cameras. We weren't the only early-birds. The crowd was building fast. The volume of on-lookers must have doubled in size all along the shores before it got dark - unfortunately no more piccies turned out well.

This picture is for poor D who spent most of the night being attacked by the flag I think she won the war in the end :oP But only with the use of our trusty light saber thingies. Very mature I know :oP

Ray put the woo woo on the boat (technical term I know) and they started patrolling the waters to make sure everyone stayed behind the bouy thingys. Luckily for D and me, we just had to sit back and enjoy the evening. Which we were happy to do.

Some of the boats had lights on them for the evening. Check this funky boat out!

As the sun set, we got some stunning views of the harbour:

Then the fireworks started - amazing!
pic 1, pic 2, pic 3, pic 4, pic 5, and this one is the fireworks on the actual bridge.

All together a fab night we had a blast. If you're ever going to be around Sydney for the New Years, I definately recommend watching the fireworks.

Hope you all have a great 2005!
