a country retreat

Reaching the midway point of my time in India it was time to chill out for a bit of R&R

Catching an early bus, we then got into jeeps for the final stretch to Jajawa - a country retreat where we would spend the night.
The building was amazing, and the owner explained how his family had won it in battle hundreds of years ago. View image
After a light lunch and a quick hunt to find the room key (it was tied to the bottom of a creepy doll thing with a bell on it - no idea why) we popped into town and made ourselves the main attraction with all the school children following us View image
After a break, we then we met up for our village safari.
We went by jeep to the villages of Babura and Asan. The people there View image were incredibly friendly and invited us to watch them sheep shearing View image I saw a parrot, so had to take a picture :o) View image
We stopped for tea at a temple View image
and then watched the sunset at the village of Diwer Kavda. Returing back to the villa, local musicians sang and danced before we went for dinner.
