Alive and kicking

I woke up feeling fine - infact, I felt great! The rest of the group were heading out on a cycle ride out of town, but I didn't think I'd risk it, so stayed for a wander around Udaipur.

I'm not good with push bikes anyway due to an accident prone childhood, so the idea of staying behind to shop, send some post, sightsee and use the internet was a good plan.
I honed my bargaining skills a little more, and my tally for this town is now a notebook, 2 tops, and a bag. The only thing stopping me from turning into a total shopping monster is the fact that everything I buy I have to carry - a sobering thought!
Trying to makeup for the lack of sight seeing yesterday, this morning I wandered all over the town - seeing more cows, goats, and dogs than you could shake a stick at (not that you'd want to be shaking sticks at animals, but you get the drift).
Lunch worked well, so I felt secure to go off to the Palace and see the Octopussy set (by the way they show Octopussy every night in most of the hotels, and Roger Moore is considered to be the best of the bonds. They wont agree with me that Sean Connery is the greatest, no matter how much you debate about it!)
The palace was nice, but the 1 hour boatride out to the palace on ther lake was something else - the views were stunning and it was delightful to be out on the lake with a cool breeze. View image

The boat docked onto the palace and I got a chance to take the obligitory photos and read some of the info about the restoration projects for the palace.
The place was very serene, and I was fairly chilled by the time I got back and had dinner.
