and it burns, burns, burns...

After 2 days of stomach pains, the inevitable happened...

In the lovely guesthouse we are staying at, I woke up feeling dizzy. Putting it down to not drinking enough water on the trip yesterday I got up and went for an exploration of Udaipur. I went to the temple View image and wandered the streets, eventually stopping for one of the most delicious juices I have tried so far. Within minutes I felt the urge to return to the safety of the hotel room.
I won't bore you with the ins and outs of it, but there were many more outs than ins - trust me!
We had arranged as a group to go on a cookery course in the evening (from 4pm till 8pm) which would show us how to make 6 dishes, we would be eating the results for our dinner.
Gutted! I woke up in time to head for the cookery school, and watched from my chair as everyone got to give the cooking a shot. I didn't dare risk it - my stomach felt the sameway one of the camels had sounded on the overnight safari in Jaisalmer :oS Anyone who knows me will know I have a pretty much cast iron stomach, so this was a first for me (and there were no mushrooms involved!)
Despite the rolling stomach of doom, I couldnt resist trying a little of each dish, and managed to keep them down, but when the group went out for drinks afterwards, I headed off to bed to get over it...
Looking on the bright side - I may lose weight in India after all! I've done nothing but eat since I got here, and will leave the country the size of an elephant if I'm not careful!
Speaking of elephants - I was up close and personal with one for the first time this afternoon! View image

Hey
U must have had sugarcane juice. It is the ice that they add to it that is unhygenic. Hope you are carrying ur medicines with u and are now feeling much better. Else buy Imodium, two capsules a day, one after lunch one after dinner (ahem, i meant toast, apple and soup) should do the trick. and if you are getting an injection or something, my advise, you must yourself buy a disposable needle and give it to the doctor. if you need any info, call me, you have my mobile no.

Hi honey. I hope you are okay as you haven't put anything on for a few days - and the thoughts of a dodgy tummy in India somehow seems soooo much worse! Photos are amazing, and brighten up my dull day in the office (often literally as backgrounds!). Birthday came and went. Spent the Fri night stuck on a train back from Winchester - oh joy. Hope you are feeling fighting fit again soon. Take care. Lots of hugs. Al x
