The big red rock

Leaving Cooper, we had a long drive to get out of South Australia and into the NT and Ayres Rock in time for sunset.

We passed into the Northern Territory in style with a funky sign announcing our crossing of the border.
I can't tell you too much of the drive - heaps of nothing very much with the occasional spot of roadkill to break it up a bit. Luckily for us it had been 11 months since we'd seen each other so we had plenty to talk about and kept each other entertained with gossip and general natter.
Entering the NT gave us new and interesting road hazards to look for and avoid.
After a few more hours of nothing very much, we finally made it to our destination - the big red rock in the middle of Oz - and we had made it just in time for sunset to watch it change colours:
pic 1, pic 2.
The view of the rock shows the colour changing, but this is a picture of the actual sunset itself.
. Also just managed to get a pic of the Olgas in the distance.
