Leaving Adelaide

After the waiting, the towncar was finally ready to go - I packed my bag and off I set.

As usual, it was a bit of a last minute faff about, as despite thinking about this trip for all the time I've been in Adelaide, I was still deeply unprepared for the start.

Having gone out the night before, I had to wait till after 1pm before I could legally drive - then I had to find navigate my way around Adelaide back to the house to drop off the spare keys, which I'd forgotten to do the night before. After another false start, I was finally off and heading out into the unknown (or Flinders Ranges - the destination decided upon while having a few bevvies in the pub the night before)

It was a frantic mad drive trying to get the Ks behind me to get the trip started.
Having left so late in the afternoon, I only made it as far as Peterborough before pulling in to sleep in the back of TC.
The second day of driving got me to the type of road scenes I had been looking forward to: a whole heap of nothing. I was surprised how easy it had been to navigate and find my way around - I guess its coz there just aint much out here. I was glad the radio and cd player were working as there really wasn't a whole lot to look at. As I neared the ranges the scenery changed dramatically.
Continuing on my "climb every mountain" theme since leaving home, I hiked around and did a few of the trails during the next couple of days. Share the views from the top! Bliss.
