July 05, 2004awaiting judgement
The slow trickle of oil leaking from TC has become a deluge, so it's time for the towncar to go for a checkup. TC has been shedding tears of oil all over the driveway. Not a good look for either the pavers, or my plans for country wide travel... TC's leak has turned from one or two drops into a bit of a river of oil leaking from the bit where oil lives (technical I know) and a trip to the car doctor (everyone needs a friend like this) confirms there is a problem. Apparently Rob was not the calm, sedate and carefull owner he portrayed - racing the poor little thing off road with wild abandon has blown something rubbery and important underneath the bonnet. Now its wait and see if this type of engine means I need a whole new thingmibob bit where the oil lives, or if I just need a new rubber doodah to make everything better again... It's either going to be too expensive to fix, and I'll have to get a bus ticket out of town and maybe get a car at a later date - or its going to be cartons of beer as mates rates gets it fixed over the next few nights after work... fingers crossed on the second option. Apart from that though, the last week has been mostly uneventful... I went for a couple of job interviews to be told that I can't work for them with my visa restrictions (still - it was good practice for interviews, and apparently I was the best candidate - flattery is always good) Starting to think I am unemployable in the state of South Australia grrrrrr! I did the intrepid explorer thing and discovered a new shopping center (with sales on!) and was pretty good and mostly restricted myself from splurging (only spent $20) not bad eh? Definately fingers crossed on the TC - I'm running out of backpack space, and a car would be ideal as a travelling wardrobe :o) Been a bit of a homebody week - watched a bunch of DVDs, read a load of books (including The Alchemist - recommended if you've not read it yet), cooked up a storm, and slowly morphed into a vegetable. Never thought I'd be saying this (again) but I miss working - and even more, I miss getting wages! Comments
