meeting back up with Sal was the inspiration I needed to get back to a bit of sightseeing. Sal had just spend the last two weeks since we met doing a whistle stop whirlwind tour of the Goldcoast - and had some amazing photos to prove it! To celebrate the adventures she has undertaken (including skydiving, white water rafting and 3 days on a boat around the Whitsundays) we thought we'd have a nip over to Coogee and lie on the beach, eat chips and generally behave like Brits abroad. It was bliss! The weather's perked up a bit recently, so the sun was shining, and I was even brave enough to strip down to my bikini and throw myself into the sea... (note - no photos of hot tottie, as there wasn't any) Unfortunately it was FREEZING, and I leapt pretty much straight out again and shivered on the beach till I dried off again... I'm not really butch enough for cold water :oP At least i can now officially say I have swum in the sea here... (alright I admit - it wasn't really a swim - more of a doggy paddle and desperate attempt to get out before I turned blue) After a nice relaxing day spent catching up, shopping (in a girlie style) and generally mooching about - we splurged on some vodka mudslides (mmm - Dawn - remember how nice they are in vanilla? they have them here in loads of other flavours too!) and got a wee bit tiddly on the roof. The following morning, I helped Sal to complete her quota of souveneers (how is that spelt?) and then waved her off on the shuttle bus for her flight home. It's been fab Sal - hope you get back safe - let me know if the digi doesn't make it and I'll go chase it up for you. Comments
Bless you - lack of talent on Coogee was becoming depressing - on the other hand, there were an awful lot of white/blue people out there to make us look extra bronzed so its not all bad :-) By the way, those booooomerangs nearly come back - the local park here has a few beheaded critters now but all in the name of Aussie fun, I just needed a spot of practice! Thanks for the help picking out said souveniers... no sign of that didge yet - but give it time... then go get em! Posted by: Sal on May 17, 2004 09:55 AM |
