A grand day out

Having a day off work meant the chance to get out and explore a bit more of Sydney. Along with the rest of my bunk mates from the hostel, we decided to have a group day out at the Taronga Zoo.

Just to catch you up on the weekend so far - me, Sharon and Andy met up for drinks on Friday night. Matt (one of the guys in my hostel dorm) came with - here are some of the photos of the evening: Matt, Andy and Sharon, the lads, me and matt
I'll have to get photos of the rest of the lads to put up for you so you can see who I am spending my free time with.
Anyway - yesterday we went to the Zoo - to get there we walked down to Circular Quay (after a slap up greasy spoon breakfast to make us feel human after all being up till about 5am talking and drinking) and got on the ferry. We walked to the Quay through the Botanical Gardens (I know, you've already seen them) but check out the bats! & bats 2. Not forgetting the spiders! urrgh!.

The harbour is full of entertainment, and this guy was playing his didgeridoo for the crowd as we waited for the ferry to arrive. Excellent :o)
The very first animal I saw after the cable car up was the Koala - how cute?
Anyway - I'll spare you the details - you know what these all are, just look at the piccies: Ghecko, Giraffe, Urangatang, fluff bomb ( quick explanation for this one - its a regular chicken, but its SO hairy! bizarre), Emu having a poo (it made me laugh anyway!), Monkey, Gorrilla, Tiger and Meercat.

This little cutey was one of my fave's Red Panda! and the BIGGEST bear.
Then it was into the 'roo section for these sweeties: View image, View image, View image then back down the cable car and onto the ferry for a pretty impressive view on the way back.
