I'm leaving, on a jet plane...

don't know when I'll be back again... but I'm determined to return and really see a bit more of the region next time. Life as a beach bum has been fine, but it's time to get to work.

So, I've booked my ticket to Sydney, and fingers crossed will be working before too long. Despite dropping the bike the other day, I'm still aiming to get a bike in Oz and see the country that way (some people never learn, eh?) - to accomplish that I need to get a job. Since I haven't worked since September it'll be a novelty for me to be earning a living again :o)
My flight arrives in Sydney on the 14th, and I've heard there is a bridge and an opera house among other things that are worth a look :oP About time too really, as I'm fairly fort / palace / beach / templed out at the moment.
With only a week left on the beaches and islands, I have to get busy with the sunbathing or I'll arrive in Australia looking like I've just left winter in England!
If you didn't guess already, I never made it to the Full Moon party - seemed a bit ropey to go on my own, so stayed on the island and met up with a guy I had met at the hostel in Bangkok who was on the island for a few days. Si (who had an early boat off the island) and me went looking for entertainment and found the Mai Thai boxing View image on Lamai beach.
I'm the sort who can't watch boxing on tv because its too violent, but I was hooked within moments of the first bout beginning! I took loads of pictures, and have to admit I prefered the girl fighters. They didn't seem to have the skill of the men, but made up for it with enthusiam. Talk about handbags at 10 paces :o) View image
I don't know how they get the energy - it's too hot to do anything other than paddle in the waves and lounge about drinking! Speaking of which, it's time for a cocktail...
