February 06, 2004Sunrise with chai
Waking at 7am to a hot cup of chai and a sunrise over the dunes in the dessert is just about the best thing I have done since arriving in India. The silence of the dunes was amazing - I havent heard such little noise for a very long time, and have never camped out below the stars before. Ive always been in a tent, but lying in the sand and watching the full moon and the stars last night was so peaceful - until the dog came along and started barking, and the camels started farting etc etc, but trust me - it was still almost silent compared to anywhere else I have seen!
