The boys wear short shorts, figure hugging vest tops, no sleeves... I'm just surprised it took me this long to get round to going. The Sydney Cricket Ground is home to the Sydney Swans - the local team. The pitch is round, they seem to have multiple goal posts - half the people on the pitch aren't on the team from what we could gather (there seem to be lots of water boys and guys wearing flourescent randomly ambling around in the middle of a play) and the four of us just couldn't work out for the life of us what the rules seem to be (well apart from the simple "get the ball to the other end of the pitch" thing) It's a very high scoring game, with points awarded for pretty much anything it seems. What can I say - you can sit back, enjoy a cold beer and a hot pie sitting in the sunshine and watching micro-shorted hunky fellas running about... not a bad way to kill the afternoon... I'm determined to learn the rules - but until that day, I'm contented to just sit back and enjoy the show :o) ps: at the end of the match, they had a (I kid you not) organised pitch invasion.
