Agra

With only one full day in Agra, there was much to do.

Getting up early in the morning and heading out to a carpet factory was first thing to do. The owner of the factory was a fabulous guide. There was a man doing display work so you could watch him weave the silks into an intricate carpet View image
After the tour, we enjoyed chai as he tried to sell us carpets. Being homeless, I didnt have the pressure to buy so I could sit back and watch the others struggle to say no :o)
Once we left the showroom, it was back into the hired for a day electric minybus and off to the Baby Taj - another monument in Agra. View image
The detail of work there is on the walls is hard to describe - so heres a picture: View image
Departing the baby Taj - we headed on our way for the main event - the Taj Mahal itself. The taxi drivers took us the back way to get this picture - View image my first glimse of the monument in the flesh so to speak.
Of course, I did the obvious pose View image to prove I was there (I promise you I aint stuck on!)
We stayed there till sunset, but it was pretty misty so the sun didnt so much set as just fade away...View image

After that - it was time to head out for the overnight train to Varanasi
