La Rochelle, more beaches, boats and ice cream
I swear I will be sleeping on the streets soon because I spend all my money on ice cream, I just cant help it. I know I dont have much money but it looks so good….so I spend maybe 2 euros on dinner, steal breakfast food for lunch then spend 4 euros on ice cream!!! its so bad, but sooo good…anyway.
Another expensive train journey and I arrived in La Rochelle, another very pretty town. Has the biggest port in France or something like that so lots of boats and seafood. Has 2 very small beaches where nobody swims but just lies around in not much clothing. Another big scarey hostel this time full of school children and special needs groups, its always fun in French youth hostels! Did meet some lovely Irish girsl again (not red heads this time) who had quit there job at a campsite because of crazy hours and awful pay. Like all Irish it seems they were off to get drunk so I went for a stroll through the town/village; very pretty, old building,right by the water, lovely!
The next day I hired a bike from this place which is free for the first 2 hours then only 1euro and hour after that, not bad. So had a very good afternoon biking though parks and little allyways, while eating my pan au chocolate in the sun, I did think that life isnt to bad! I love it how everything is just so French! Lay in the sun till it was almort gone and splashed out on Thai takeaways for dinner, good but very expensive, almost as much as the pistachio/chocolate italien icecream I had!
Early start because of screaming children and its time to move on again, into the Loire Valley.
