So many friends; so much food!

A few weeks of visiting and eating.
———-
First, back in Santiago, with Nolo. Many meals with him, and his family.
Seafood with Nolo.
Barbecue with Nolo’s parents.
Also in Santiago, we re-met with Pedro and Fabiana, from Isla Juan Fernandez (Robinson Crusoe Island). And there was Ingrid and Christian, met in Peru only a month earlier. Do you get the impression we were seeing lots of people? And this was the beginning.
———-
After two days of waiting for a chance to cross the Andes by bus, we cashed our ticket in and flew to Buenos Aires (Argentina).
Zeke, our “man in Buenos Aires”. Doctor Zeke. Surgeon Zeke. Dancing Zeke. Ahh, 6 years ago, just a young med student. How things change.
Buffet at Grant’s, with Zeke.
Rainy boat trip at El Tigre.
Zeke shows his stuff. Rock’n’Roll lessons, later followed by tango. Who looks in control?
Lucila del Mar. Home of our Argentinian family. Biggest change since last time has been the new member of the family, young Irupe.
Walter in charge of asado.
Asado with the family at La Lucila.
Walking the asado off.
And speaking of new additions to families, back in Buenos Aires we stayed with Paulette and Emilio, climbing companions from Roraima, Venezuela, who were on their honeymoon there. And baby on the way.
Congratulations Paulette and Emilio.

On to Europe. Flying in to London, and being welcomed in to the home of Alister and Anahi. Markets, and a great trip out to the Cottswolds.
Richard and Al seek a Scottish connection.
With Anahi and Al. Not the only people to decide a picnic in the Cottswolds would be a fine way to spend the day.
Got to do a couple of London things while there, including catching a show. “The Postman Always Rings Twice” starring (gasp), Val Kilmer (sigh). Well, that was the reaction of a few ladies in the audience 🙂
The days allowed some more catching up. French Connection U.K – Aicha! Another Roraima climbing companion, Jaroslav the Czech. A close friend of Joanne’s sister, Natalie, had us around and we were made welcome by her daughter, Marissa.
Jaroslav, in Hyde park.
Aicha (the French platypus) in London.
Afternoon tea with Natalie and Marissa.
On the last weekend, we stayed with a childhood friend of Joanne’s, Michelle and her husband, Darren. Their daughter Emily labelled me (Richard) as “that naughty man”. I’m big. I can cope! Got to do a little country sight-seeing with them.
And the night before flying, we had fish and chips on the beach at Brighton with Pat, originally met at (gee, this is becoming repetitive) Roraima! Although, she was going up while we were going down. Ended up in a bar in Guyana with her, with Mick Jagger. But that’s another story!
Fish and chips on the beach at Brighton. Nice way to finish our stay in England.
