China Kanding
The great wall of China is working !!. Haven’t been able to connect to emails or blog on a public computer so had to wait to get a wifi connection and will strugle thru with my mini tablet so apologise if a bit rough. In fact with the death of telephones I thought I was going to have to go back to postcards !!.
So now in Kanding, the start of the Tibetan world. Last time I was here didn’t rate the place but
seems to have improved, maybe the result of some sunshine. But still cold and a chill wind. Place a mix of the colourful Tibetan styles and Chinese fairy lights with lots of Tibetan monks only matched by an equally imposing amount of police -there are lots.
Today went up the nearest mountain and visited one of the local monateries which made for some nice pics and pleasant stroll. But mainly its a acclimatisation day as at 2600m a useful start for tomorrow.
