Bats and Prairy Dogs

After Roswell we headed to Austin, Texas. Texas is a huge state (bigger than the UK) so we stopped along the way at a state park to camp. We really enjoy camping in the state parks as they are all so different. The country is so big and has such a diversity of animals and plants that everywhere offers something new. While we were staying at this park we saw Armadillo, Deer, and Prairy dogs.
Here is a picture of a prairy dog. (I know it looks stuffed but it isnt)

We knew we were in Texas when we saw this sign as we left the park the next morning.

We didn’t take many pictures of Austin but it was a pretty cool place. It had a good vibe about it. While we were there we went to see the biggest urban bat colony in the world where 4 million bats come to nest each year.

Here is a pretty grainy picture of them taking off.

Sorry thats it for this one.
