Ayuthaya/Lopburi

Saw some amazing old ruins these last two days...not my feet our sore and my eyes are tired!

So I left Kanchanaburi the other day and we headed back through Bangkok to Ayuthaya, it was an old capital town before, so there are so many ruins there. I was still traveling with Aimee and Brigitte then. We took the bus there and found a hostel to stay in, we stayed in the Ayuthaya Guest house...I know I know, the Lonely Planet warns people not to stay there since the owners can be aggressvie and even abussive to their guests, but there was no where else to stay. So since there was three of us I figured it was ok. And it was fine, no problems, but the owner at night did look a little strange, but I just stayed in my room.

We rented bikes the next day, and rode around the small island, an island since it is surrounded by rivers,. Then Aimee and Brigitte left and headed in the opposite direction of me to another National Park, so I continued on my own from here. Traveled all over...looking at one big reclining buddha after another.

Then this morning I came to Lopburi by train. Another city with many ruins, but not as impressive as yesterday. But there were tons of monkies here! Yikes. I saw the place where there are tons of monkies but then I bought bananas later, and walked past again. ...aghhh! I had to quickly put them in my backpack as to not be attacked!

Now just getting ready to get on the train for 12 hours to Chiang Mai! I bought my ticket yesterday when I was in Ayuthaya still, but it was the last seat/bed on the overnight train for tonight! Yikes! I hope it is ok. Usually they won't put a single woman traveler in a car with only all men or something like that, but since it was the last one, I didn't have much choice! I am sure I will be fine though! I will let you know when I get to Chiang Mai!

Miss you all!
