Hot hot Bangkok!

And they say this is the cold season here! It is hot here! I have spent the last few days in Bangkok. Each morning I drank no less than two liters of water, and that is just before 10am! I have met up with tons of other travelers, so it has hardly felt like I am traveling alone!

The first day here I went to a huge market here that happens on the weekend. And can anyone believe this, but I bought absolutely nothing! I know, I know, I can hardly believe it myself. But truly, it was my first day here, and all I kept remembering was throwing out more and more crap to make my bag lighter when I was back in Tokyo, no way was I going to start adding more things to it on the first day already! (And secretly I kept a mental tally in my head of the things that I wanted to buy when I come back through Bangkok again before I head south to Australia! heee-heee-heee!) It was funny, all the people who I went to the market with were from California, minus on who was from N.Y. And all the Californians were from the Bay Area! Imagine that!

Next day I headed out to Wat Po, walked around the temple, saw the biggest reclining Buddha, and then popped in for a wonderful relaxing reflexology foot massage from the School of Massage of Thailand. It is located right in the Wat. Aghhhh...my tired feet thanked me!

Then I headed off with my long pants and my closed toed shoes, and my face of steal to the Grand Palace. But funny, I wasn't approached by a single person trying to scam me, or trying to offer me a tuk tuk ride! Walked around the palace for awhile. Then crossed the river and went to Wat Arun. Very beautiful, but very differnt from the sparkely Wat Po that I had just seen earlier in the day...this Wat had all sorts of cermaic tiles laid into the sides of the temple. Some looked like old broken plates.

Went back to the hostel and ate a good dinner there. Ok thats all for now!
Miss you all!
