Terry Schiavo

I have edited this post because Terry Schiavo has since passed away. I wish her all the best in the afterlife. I hope she has better luck there than she did here.
________________________

If this isnīt the most ridiculous thing in the world, I donīt know what is.

This is all politically motivated by the right wing religious republicans. They are throwing a bone to their savage zealot supporters in the bible belt. This woman has no life and has been more or less dead for years.

An actual memo from a republican in the senate was written, here is the excerpt with a link at the bottom of the page.

"Republicans circulated a "talking points" memo last week discussing Ms. Schiavo's fate in terms that emphasized political opportunism. "This is an important moral issue and the pro-life base will be excited that the Senate is debating this important issue," that memo explained. "This is a great political issue, because Senator [Ben] Nelson of Florida has already refused to become a cosponsor [of the Schiavo bill] and this is a tough issue for Democrats."

Another memo was leaked and it talked about how this was a "great issue for their base." I might be wrong, but at this point, every court in the country has ruled against the parents right? Oh and itīs because Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist wants to run for President in 2008. Unfortunately for Frist, the Governor of Florida who, surprisingly, might want to be president some day happens to be names Jeb Bush. The two of these idiots are in a battle right now to see who can curry more favor with religious psychos like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and the rest of the cuckoo nest.

And, to top it off, all the conservative news outlets (Fox News, NY Post, etc...) were advertising that she "received communion" yesterday? HOW?? I am the only one wondering that? Didnīt she have her feeding tube removed?

I just canīt believe they wonīt let her die in peace. If all this religious people believe that heaven and the after-life is so much better, why the big fight? Let her move on to this wonderful place that we all cling to the hope of.

And now, at the risk of crossing a line, seriously how did she take communion? Did the priest chew it up and regurgitate it into her mouth like a mama bird does for her babies? Did he just push it through her feeding hole?

Duff, do you have a secret obsession with President Bush? Is it like when you were real young and would taunt and tease girls, it really meant you liked them?

So without the wafer it was really only 1/2 communion...technically speaking.

Her parents are turning their selfish desire to keep her in THEIR lives into a Grand Moral and Religious Issue to stir up the uber-bible toters. Not a new trick.

So, you're allowed freedom of speech, but those who don't agree with your ignorance get their comments deleted?

#1 - hey buddy, itīs my site and much like Bush and America I will run it with an iron fist. youīre lucky though...if it was a theocracy like Bush runs youīd be in trouble. in my religion, i burn witches at the stake.

#2 - shut it up.

#3 - my point about the communion was a little subtle. why was it important for that fact to be reported?? because all of this has been political and they want to make sure everyone on the religious right knew that someone was dying who "was religious".

#4 - you ask for me to respect her. i think letting her die with dignity is respect. on the other hand, having tv cameras in there, self-promoting politicians like tom delay intervening and having her parents defy her wishes....that sounds a bit like disrespect to me.

#5 - how many courts (including the GOP supreme court) decided against the family? 1,345 or something like that right?

raised a jew, i have a question for the goys...

Will the same Evangalists who left their jobs to go sit outside Terri's hospice in order to get on Fox News mourn the loss of the pope?

Do they care about the guy?

Or is he just some other non-believer who doesn't believe in their sect of Chrazi-anity?

duff: i knew it..

uber-psycho: shut it up. this is a ball busting arena, not a modern court of righteousness.
