The Red Sox Suck

Last night was game #5 of the Yankees-Red Sox series. I havenīt watched any of the playoffs and when going to watch it, I was actually surprised to find out that it wasnīt game #4.

First off, Irish pubs are huge here. They are everywhere...just not quite as common as shoe stores. Thankfully, the pubs have sports on TV. So, Monday night we decided to watch the game. Only problem is the 6 hour time change. I believe it was about 5:30 am when I left. I also believe that I drank 98 beers. I also believe that all this might have contributed to my being late to class this morning. Not sure though...

Question: Do idiot red sox fans multiply like gremlins hit with water or something? They were everywhere. In a crowded bar, I was one of maybe 25 Yankee fans. There had to be easily more than 100 Red Sox fans in attendence. Iīm actually quite amazed that I was able to escape with my smart ass mouth still attached to my face.

The best thing about Red Sox fans is their tragic nature. I swear to god, Shakespeare himself couldnīt have written a more tragic and fatal character. Having been a Yankee fan my entire life itīs hard to comprehend the torment that is the daily life of a Red Sox fan. Just think, since 1918 the Red Sox have won ZERO world series while the Yankees have won 26. If there is a bigger complex than the one that Boston has for New York, I havenīt seen it.

Watching these tortured souls live and die with every pitch is just plain old fun. At this point, I hope the Yankees lose game #6 and end up winning on a walk-off home run in the 9th inning of game #7. For added torment I hope that the Yankees activate Luis Sojo or Roger Dorn and one of them hits the homerun and drives that stake a little further through the heart of Boston.

And then I hope Pedro Martinez is hit by a cab driver on Jerome Ave outside Yankee Stadium. I hope the cab driver gets out, tells him that gerry-curls have been out of style for decades and proceeds to shave his head. And then backs over him with the car...

Yes, all this is good, Duff. Very accurate accounts of how Boston and Yankees fans feel. Check out these links for an interesting souvenir and similarity.

I feel the same way.... I had to live in Boston for the summer... I loved the town of Boston, but the fans are the worst. They all have this false sence of hope.... Like you, it is pure pleasure for me to watch them loose EVERY year... At least they have the Patriots, if they didn't, I think the city would drink itself to death... Something else that would be fun to watch...
