August 06, 2005Typhoon Matsa
It seems the weather everywhere is turning pear shaped. Only a month ago the same coastline was devastated by Typhoon Haiting, we are now awaiting the arrival of Typhoon Matsa. Matsa is due to cross the coastline between Wenling and Taizhou, just north of Wenzhou this afternoon. Yesterday we were out in the local village and got caught in a downpour and made the terrible mistake of saying at least the weather was cooler, little did we know about 60km away as the crow flies 1.2 million people were being evacuated as rivers had already swollen nearer the coast. And a villager doing whatever they can to make a barrier. . Comments
