We were at a big festival in the city and there were crowds of people and someone grabbed it out of the camera bag and ran off. There were so many people pushing around us I had no chance of catching them.

Thank god that we backed up the memory card after the salt flat trip or we would have lost so many memories. We had to stay an extra day in La Paz to get a police report for the insurance and to buy a new camera. Luckily I managed to find the same model camera so it worked out ok.

Since it happened I have been watching the camera like a hawk and keeping my hand over the bag. This is the first time we have had anything stolen in any country we have been to over the years. It had to happen sometime I suppose. We couldnĀ“t beat the odds forever !!
