Farewell old friend (she says with a shrug)

I kissed a dear friend goodbye today. Over the past 11 years:
–we have traveled through 39 states together
–shared tears, snacks, stories, and the same musical taste
–recovered from various bodily injuries (seldom serious, usually my fault)
–touched the butts of some nice attractive males
–sat in silence together to enjoy scenery, forget stress, plan the future, or figure out the day.

She never yelled when I spilled coffee on her, but she could be a bit passive-aggressive, letting me know her disatisfaction with whines and squeals and grumbles. I gave her money. Quite a bit actually. But today, she finally paid me back some of it before she took off down the street with a young Russian guy, never to be seen again. That’s Ok. I am the one who hooked them up through the following “personals ad”:

Yes, it’s true.  Most of you thought that NO ONE would ever buy that car for more than $500, but turns out “people love RAV4’s in Russia!”  My dad’s response (as it is to many things):  “You lead a charmed life.”  🙂
