Carnaval is over, and thank god, because the $ side of the whole deal was killing me. I am already about $500 over my planned budget. Cant say that i havent had the time of my life here, meeting cool people, seeing beautiful things. after recovering from my tuesday night binge, which included a very late night, so late in fact that i vaguely remember swimming naked in the ocean in front of Copacabana Palace while the sun was rising the next morning! It took about 18hrs to sleep that night off. Today (the 10th of Feb. I went hang gliding here in rio off of a very tall cliff. It was nice and chill, not as crazy as skydiving, but worth the experience. I consider it my b-day gift for myself, because tomorrow Feb 11th i turn 23. i dont know what ill do, but im sure ill have a good time...ready to leave brasil (well not really, but $ wise it is time for me to go). the weather has been better than great here, and i dont want that to end! I really miss my drums and i really miss my mt. bike.....and friends and family too, but yall know how i feel about drums and mt. biking.
oh, about the drums...another reason i love carnaval was the drummers, so fuckin badass these folks on their drums. the energy of brazil comes from the beat of a drum for sure. put 20 brazilians in a room and each and everyone can hold down a beat or two, try that with americans and you would be lucky if 2 out of the bunch could hold a beat.....i rest my case
