This is where the poor people live (also known as Chavistas...je je je). These crude but numerious structures cover the hills around caracas, just like they do in Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo, only they are called Flavelas (slums) in Brazil, not barrios. Figures of those who live in poverty in Venezuela range from 60% to 80% of the population. Unemployment is at about 18% according to the CIA factbook. So mabey there is a reason why i dont see to many smiling faces on the streets here. Comments
