September 07, 2005The Men
To be honest, the weather in Qingtian has been a bit rough lately either stinking hot or blowing a gale or raining or flooding. An amazing attribute of the Chinese is they rarely let these things get them down. The hot weather will see them slow down a little and sleep a lot more but generally they are still a happy bunch. The last typhoon caused some flooding damage here and still most people put on a brave face, yet it kind of wrecked the end of the summer holidays. Once the water had subsided a little Trev and I organised a shindig for our good group of friends 'the men' but I also wanted to include their wives and kids in it too. Under the bridge was still under water so Trev and I invited everyone to quite a plush indoor restaurant and there were 16 of us in all. We drank and ate and forgot about things for a while. Comments
