November 07, 2004Gao Yao Ecology Park
Lyn invited me out to an Ecology Park in Gao Yao to have a break after a terrible week. We caught the bus out there (2 hours away) complete with chooks and way too many people. But we arrived at a lovely place called an "ecology' park. In China this is almost an oxy moron. Rubbish and crap everywhere, but the park was actually very nice. I found out when we got there we were doing a little "look see" for where the Kindy will hold it's Christmas party. I think the park will be a great place, it's a mix between a theme park, swimming centre, mini zoo with a small amount of ecological education thrown in. Pretty much where your parents sent you on a horrible summer camp with the YMCA many years ago. Some good parts, with lots of crap. We hired push bikes and road around checking everything out. Trev and I have a strange fettish for hedge mazes and when we saw one we went running in. Ivy and Kitty followed us in without the same enthusiasm. We got to the centre a long time before them. Trev on the way out thought he would race again, except the big oaf fell and twisted his ankle. Quite badly, big fella limped for the rest of the day. I secretly think he liked the attention he was getting. Comments
