Zhong Guo Mama is a really funny lady. She is so animated which makes speaking to her an absolute joy. Tonight Trev, Liam and I were down in the local village "San Mao" having a bite to eat when we saw her walking down the hill. We waved frantically at her and she came over. I asked her to sit down, she inspected our food visually, and I asked her if she had eaten - she had. I gave her some chopsticks anyway and she sampled our dishes. She wasn't real keen on one of them, but the meat dish we were eating; basically pork, onions and ginger - Zhong Guo Mama was disgusted by it. She thinks she can cook it better, so a date was made for me to have a cooking lesson. And just as quickly as she arrived she was gone. About an hour later we met up on the road again. She had been to the market and bought some apples and salt. So began our funny little ritual "what's this?" so our walk home we were chatting about apples and salt. We then progressed to "Disco". Andy and Liam had a mates language and we have picked up the ridiculous pronounciation we are now teaching Zhong Guo Mama crazy accent. Another foreign teacher here is quite negative and he often says "Get Real" and "Suck Eggs". She can now imitate Gary's "Get Real" to a tee. Not sure what Gary's reaction will be next time he hears her. Comments
