Melaka
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008Got on a bus that was nicer than the room we had had in K.L. and made our way down to Melaka. Had a brief stroll around the place earlier, much less noise than K.L. (don’t get too excited though, there’s still one of those lovely air-con megamalls within 500m,) and there’s plenty of museums and whatnot to,hopefully, keep us entertained for the next 5 days while we wait out our flights to Oz.
Still can not get over how much I love the Indian food out here, nor that it is nearly Oz time. I know it marks only 4 1/2 months on the road, but its Asia over and Oz beginning, so that is clearly in every book but the literal one, half way through our adventure. A scary thought indeed.
We’re staying in a hostel a little out from the town center (it’s cheaper) and it has some pretty sweet communal areas which I promptly fell asleep in, book resting against chest, the second we sat down earlier. Hard life, non?
