Melbourne pt2

Well I’ve been in Melbourne for a week now.

Melbourne across the river Yarra

I keep liking it more every passing day.  Today I went to the Aquarium, saw the strangest looking fish I’ve ever seen and King penguins from the Antarctic.  These guys blow the little blue penguins out of the water (figuratively that is).

After that, I had Japanese for lunch, stopped at a pub for a couple great beers and was on my way back to my hostel when I stumbled across a really good band playing SRV style blues at another bar just off the main square.

I stayed there and listened to them for a while, there was also a jazz quintet playing at another place across the square.  The choices I have to make.  The most amazing thing is, I keep randomly finding stuff that’s great.  For the most part I’m not reading this stuff in guidebooks, or even getting many recommendations from people.  There’s just cool stuff all over the place here, plenty of people out and about enjoying it too.

The weather has been just about perfect almost every day since I’ve been here too.  Next thing, just need a job.  That’s this coming weeks goal.

So I am really jealous right now of all your traveling! I was talking to your Mom and I heard we are going to be in Africa at the same time! How long will you be in South Africa? Well your pictures look awesome, hope you are having a blast!

yeah, looking for a job is suuuch a blast ;) Still manage to have fun though, not too hard here in Melbourne. I’m not sure exactly how long I’ll be in South Africa, 3 or 4 weeks most likely. It all depends on when I leave Oz. Where abouts in Africa are you going? It’s the one continent that I feel I’m cutting way short on this trip.

Hahah…if only every country had a PIZZA RANCH..lol..jkjk

Well I will be leaving here on June 2nd and will spend the night in Jo-burg, South Africa! Then I will be flying to Beira, Mozambique until July 2nd. Super excited! I am hoping that maybe I will also have the opportunity to take a boat to Madagascar, but I hear it is kinda dangerous to do that right now!

yeah, if only. lol. If I saw one outside America I think I would cry, or be filled with rage. One or the other.
Very cool, sounds like a great experience! My cousin went to Madagascar and rated it highly.
That must be a very long flight/flights to Joburg from IA, from Sydney it’s 14 hours!
