Bangkok touring

Well, today we slept in until about 11AM….Carmel (on the tour from Ireland) called and asked if we wanted to do some sightseeing. We went to lunch and then headed up to Wat Arun (aka Temple of the Dawn); it was across the river so we crossed for $3Baht (FYI $40Baht=$1USD). It was another impressive temple. We walked around for a bit and then headed back to the hotel area. Tonight, we are headed to the Patpong Market (which apparently leaves a lot to be desired) and we were told by some random teacher, Sonny, that today is a holiday and there are suppose to be fireworks tonight. Tomorrow, Kate is off to the River Kwai until Friday so I will probably just get a massage and relax (rough life, I know). I am still trying to get a straight answer about Koh Samui.
That’s all for now.

    Hi Kristen:

Real sorry I haven’t been checking your blog (Thanksgiving and all) and you’ve been doing some amazing touring and even some photos.

Everything sounds absolutely fabulous and the tour seems so organized and everything’s so inexpensive. (I agree with your Mom and Dad though, you should have tried the worms and grasshhoppers because Fear Factor is offering $50,000 now!). Oh well, next time ????

You don’t sound homesick at all, Kristen, and that’s great! We do miss you, however, and look forward to your return.

Can’t wait to see all of the photographs. Seems like the SEA part of your trip was the best part for you. Soooo different. I loved the photo of the elephant on one side of the street and bicycles on the other — too much!

Gotta work now (was off for five wonderful days!) so have to play catchup.

    Love,
    Barbara

    Kristen,

Greetings from Port Richmond! Your trip is awesome!!!! Are you still in Bangkok? If so, stop for dinner at the State Bldg., the 63rd floor; “Mezzaluna” it is supposed to be really nice, a great view , food etc. as per this Thai Dr. I know. Did you check out the Temple of Dawn? Enjoy the rest of your trip, I am totally envious!!!!!!!!
