Off to Portugal
Friday, October 8th, 2004Landround Travel have sent a letter after they could not reach me by phone. When I called back they just wanted to confirm my first choice of destination and date for my complementary flight to Europe — no hard sell of insurance, hotels etc. This seems to be one promotions company which is above board. So on the 10th of November I’m off to Portugal!

Internet Access in Ard
Thursday, July 1st, 2004So my departure to ARD is imminent. Tomorrow in fact. Three months of whalewatching!
Life is hard…
I have translated and uploaded my entire African Journal to edit at leisure (plenty to do on rainy days) but I cannot promise how often I’ll manage to udate this blog or put up more stories because, while these days we have internet in igloos, I doubt that we will have access in Ard.
This means that I can probably only do the blog from the office in Tobermory, Isle of Mull — perhaps once a week. If that is the case, I of course want to blog about the project for the supporters and other volunteers. There may not be much time for Africa. But watch this space.

Please place your comments under more recent entries, even if they relate to older stuff, because the old entries will automatically be blocked after a while to prevent this sort of thing from happening too often.

Especially the boy-wonder Rooney.
I’ve got to go to the library today, it is my last opportunity now that I am in London. But, damnit, it is work. Piecing my Africa notes together is much more fun, but it will take a little while. I’ll post the first excerpt as soon as I can.
Not much to blog about…
Wednesday, June 2nd, 2004There isn’t much to blog about in the next two weeks. The summer is up to a slow start. Even Ken from the Alba Re-inactment and Clan Heritage Trust says it is the slowest season he has experienced so far. Normally we’d be busy since mid-May at least, swinging swords and battle axes at special events all over Scotland.
