January 08, 2004Bolivian Driving: Day 2
We had such a blast yesterday, we decided to do it all again!! Meeting again at the hotel at 730 am, Barry, David, and a German girl (Lisa) dave picked up on a street corner were off to the grand jungles of Bolivia!! On the way we were to check out a property that David was looking at buying with an investor in the US. Dave is an excellent contact for people interested in creating agricultural opportunities in Bolivia. With my new, replacement, gps, I was able to act as his survey man! Neat! Take a look at some of these Maps I made them for Dave afterwards to help the negotiation process. Anyone need GPS Survey services in Bolivia? Perhaps I can help you out. ;)
More Pictures of Farming in Bolivia After looking at the property, we head for a small town called san ramon. Pretty, but boring. The only interesting thing MIGHT be that we can SEE THE GOLD MiNE!!! We tried, and ALMOST got one of the managers from the office in the city to come with us to the mine, but he decided it was better to sleep. That’s a Bolivian for ya. Oh well.. I will search out some mines somewhere else. After San Ramon, we headed to San Javier, the first stop on the Jesuit Missions Circuit. It had an amazing church that was built in the late 1600s. Wow. THAT’S OLD. ;) Here are the pictures. Pictures of Mission Era Church in Bolivia After the town, we went to a milk processing plant, and had some EXCELLENT yogurt. Someone once told me that live culture yogurt was really really good for you. Is that true?? Well at least the company had a great logo.
