8130km from home, bye pto montt!! I will miss you...

Another lovely 12 hour overnight busride, then 4 more to the coast! But i did it, i am now just a few short days from being in Costa Rica! My time with Thomas and Lia was magical. Its rare you meet people like them, I have learned much in my short stay... Thank you.

While in pto montt, for 5 days, i spent all my time with my new family in chile. First, as you saw in the last entry, we went to the old Ralun hotel for relaxing over the weekend (as if i need more).

Then we came back and I got to visit a salmon processing plant on monday! WOW! Very exciting. It was amazing to see the process in action. Be sure to look at these movies. (1, 2, 3)

Hearing thomas talk about his accomplishments, having just finished Atalas Shrugged, and watching the process at the plant REALLY makes me want to build a company. A REAL company that MAKES things, not just adding small value.

We talked, and talked, and drank wine, debated the virtues of the atkins diet. (disclosure, i dont like the impact it has on the world, though i believe it to be effective).

Tuesday we took a spectacular sail on his 30foot sloop! I was at the helm, and wow was the wind ever kicking.

GO LOOK AT THE PICTURES of Salmon in Puerto Montt, Sailing in Puerto Montt

What a way to spend life. A good lesson kiddies, go make enough money so that you can not work for a few years and really enjoy life.

I am preparing to go see the beach home of pablo neruda.

"The great rain from the South falls on Isla Negra like a single drop lucid and heavy" Here i come!

I am looking forward to getting out of chile. Dont get me wrong, its specatular, but I dont think i can take in any more... i have reached my cultural absorbtion limit. ZIP! thats it.

Which, actually works out perfectly... CR will be a spectacular change. I am even getting visitors!

Indicentally, does anyone know where the best Caranaval party in central america is? Should I be in panama on the 23rd?

miss you all

cheers
