Day 29, Valle de los Ingenios

My last full day in Trinidad... This is the longest I´ve ever been travelling and I love it, it comes highly recommended.

The only thing that I hate is that you have to say goodbye to people all the time, other tourists and Cubans. And the longer you stay in one place, the harder it is. It´ll be good to see Ivón again, but I´ll really miss Carlos and his juicy jokes, Iris´ laughter, Rosita´s cooking and Elliot´s dancing...

Nicole and I went to the tourist train to see if it went to the Valle de los Ingenios, but Osvaldo, the machinista, told us it was in repairs. He showed it to us and I was surpised it ever worked in the first place. Of course, he wanted a tip, plus a besito as well... Then we ran into Patrice and Anna, from France, and we decided to take a taxi to the Valle, which is where the train normally goes.

We went to the tower, where you have a great view even though the stairway is a bit scary and Nicole and I both bumped our heads. We also bought some of the hand knitted clothes they sell. After, we went to a mirador, viewpoint, and then to a ceramics factory where Nicole got to show off her pottery skills.

After that I had a lovely icecream and now, I am going to watch the sunset on top of the hill, to say goodbye to Trinidad.
