Day 28, Un Lada Azul

Yesterday, I had langosta for dinner, which was absolutely divine. Carlito was saying he was really worried that Iīd stayed out that late, and he couldnīt sleep, so he told me not to stay out too late by myself. With the others or with Elliot it was fine. Yes dad...

After dinner we had a look at Disco Ayala but it was empty, so the English drank their ten dollars worth in about 20 minutes, while I just cut my losses. Nicole, the Swiss girl, and Barbaro, her Cuban friend, were there as well.

We moved to Fresa y Chocolate, until the place closed at three. Then we went to the petrol station to have a midnight snack. At about 5 I got to my bed. Ouch.

I slept late and took a taxi particular to the beach. The taxi driver was Lazaro, and I agreed for him to pick me back up at 5. I walked along the beach, which was nearly deserted once you got away from the hotel, and plunged around in the water. I nearly fell asleep. At 5, there was no Lazaro, but his sister Reina told me he was coming back a bit later as heīd picked up some more people.

He was there at 5.30 and Reina and I got in, which is one of those things everybody warns you about you shouldnīt do... Anyway, all that happened was that Reina kept asking me if I didnīt fancy her brother, and he kept saying he would make dinner for me. They fed me some kind of rum which I pretended to drink. She kept saying, heīs my brother, no problem, just my brother, which made me even more suspicious. Anyway, after a lot of no graciasīs they dropped me off and at home Rosita was waiting with a lovely big pineapple juice.

In the evening I dropped by the Casa de la Musica and sat with Nicole, Barbaro and that older man that dances with everyone, and I talked a bit to Alexander, another dance teacher, but my heart wasnīt in it and I went home to get some sleep at about eleven.
