144: Otago Peninsula (2)

Just back from my 2nd trip to Otago Peninsula.

I won’t blog extensively about this 2nd trip but so I don’t forget what I did and where I went…

Left around 9ish after breakfast (Porridge with Banana, hmm..)
Genfalloch Woodland Gardens
Dunedin Botanic Gardens
Royal Albatros Center (Sadly no Albatros in sight, not the season)
Penguin Place (Lots of Yellow-Eyed Penguins, some upclose)
Cape Saunders
(Sleep in Car @ Cape Saunders)
Watch Sunrise (around 7:15; very nice sunrise sky but too cold to get out and take photos so just enjoy watching it..)
Brekkie
Drive around Papanui Inlet (Bay) and watch wildlife in Bay
3.5h Walk at Pyramids and Victory Beach (Victory Shipwreck remains and NZ Fur Seal with Pup)
Alans Beach (Interesting Kelp, watched fabulous Waves for ages, mini “Bass Rock”, watched Seal playing with caught fish for minutes at beach: toss,turn,throw&catch.. )
Sandymount (Short walk through “dark forest” to Chasm viewpoint, too late for Lovers Leap walk as gettin dark)

Magic Sunset.. burning sky!

Black Swans
Paradise Shellduck
Mallars
Variable Oystercatchers
South Island Pied Oystercatchers
Pied Stilts
