Banter in the red light district

So, our place of residence at the moment is in the middle of the red light district, and oh the banter. There’s nothing I like more than a potential hooker-punter shouting something from his car as we walk home, oh no. For their part, the prostitutes here seem to be put down enough to stay well away from normal people. Not like Everton, Liverpool, where if you are walking down the road in a mixed group of 20, you still get an opportunistic type popping out of the bushes, hopefully eyeing everyone and offering the only thing she’s got left, or, failing that, to rob the lot of you.

Luckily, these aren’t those types.

Still, very much a conversation stopper when you come within 10 m of them. Sometimes I even hold my breath, you know, just in case.

Accomodation hunt took on a good turn this evening. We were speaking to some girls during dinner tonight at the hostel and they told us about this place that is 30 minutes train from inner city (and jobs and nightlife,) but for just A$170 each per week we get a swimming pool, our own apartment- no sharing, beautiful place etc. We’re checking it out tomorrow. Still unsure about the job prospects, thinking to maybe go work in a bar, ‘cos apparently in the state of Victoria, you don’t need to do the A$60 pointless but mandatory ‘how to tell if someone is drunk’ course.
