Venice, september 15-16

Today we spent on a train going to Italy. When we got to Venice and settled in. It was kind of late around 7:00, so we went out to dinner. I got a cheese pizza, but I couldn’t get the full sensation of the taste because of my plugged nose. The next day we went to San Marco square. There was a lot of pigeons there. We looked around while mom and dad read out of Rick Steve’s book on Italy about various happenings in the square, Including a man being knocked off a bell tower to his death by statues ringing a bell with their hammers.

We got to feed the pigeons too, which was the highlight of my day. First you throw some bread crumbs out and soon there will be pigeons crawling all over your feet. Then pigeons come up and land on your head and arms in a flourish. Once I had double decker pigeons on my head.

After that we found a constantly flowing drinking fountain and washed our hands. We had something to eat in the park. Then we went to an art museum that had paintings mainly of saints and Jesus. On the way back I got chocolate flavored Gelato.
