A week or so ago, we stopped in the small town of Wadi Musa. That towns main reason for existing was probably the nearby site of Petra. The second day there we got the incredibly nice people working at the hotel to drive us to the ancient city. The walk was long and strenuous, but very beautiful too.

In Petra, I think it wasn’t the buildings that were interesting so much as the sandstone it was carved out of. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Wow, those buildings carved into the cliffs are pretty amazing. Beautiful stone, reminds me of Utah. I suppose they were pretty energy efficient, built into the cliff? But they would need lots of lamps to light them, I suppose.
